CMU Commencement 2009 Caught on GigaPan

Events

This past weekend was incredibly busy, not only with the launch of the CIFellows Project, but also with a full slate of CMU commencement activities. Jeffrey Baker did a nice job taking a GigaPan photo of the event. I made some attempts to get the faculty members sitting around me to ham it up when the GigaPan swung towards us, but somehow I was the only one caught in a, um, compromising pose.  ;-)

See if you can find me in the photo. Click here to see it…

The ceremony itself was pleasant, with bright sun, a cool breeze, and a very nice keynote speech by Google CEO Eric Schmidt. He started off by explaining that, with all the computers and mobile phones that everyone has, that “everything you touch was probably invented by computer scientists that came from Carnegie Mellon.” You can check out the speech YouTube here.
