US Senate Resolution Cites Randy Pausch’s Role in Cancer Awareness

News

A Senate resolution sponsored by Hilary Clinton, Bob Casey, and Arlen Specter plays tribute to the role that Randy Pausch played in giving “a voice to victims of pancreatic cancer” and inspiring “people to live life to the fullest.”

As we have all lived with Randy it is sometimes hard to understand the full extent of his legacy. During his illness, Randy had been an active spokesperson for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, including recording several public service announcements and testifying before Congress. His story has thus become a central element of the congressional debate on funding for cancer research. A bill introduced in the House of Representatives proposes a National Plan to Advance Pancreatic Cancer Research, with advertising in support of this bill featuring Randy’s story.
