Carlos Guestrin Named to Popular Science “Brilliant 10″
Carlos Guestrin, faculty member in Machine Learning and Computer Science, has been selected as one of the Brilliant 10 by Popular Science. This distinction recognizes Carlos as one of the most creative and important young researchers in the country.
Popular Science describes Carlos as the “information wrangler,” who “develops new ways to get the most information with the least effort.” He is lauded for his work in machine learning, with applications to tracking water-borne diseases, monitoring the health of redwood forests, and ranking the most important blogs.
