I loved Randy’s Book The Last Lecture. I have read it to my students @ South Texas College to inspire them and just to introdece them to a great man. I was saddened to hear of Randy Pausch’s passing this morning. I will always remember him and i felt his passion. He has truly touched my life. My prayers go out to his wife and children and the rest of his family including those at CMU.

Randy Pausch Book and Media Blitz

News

The cover story for today’s Parade magazine (included in many Sunday newspapers) is about Randy Pausch. Besides having his picture on the cover:

there is a two-page excerpt from the book, The Last Lecture, by Randy Pausch and Wall Street Journal writer, Jeffrey Zaslow, to be released on April 8. Jeffrey will be on campus for a book event next week.

The media attention will be incredibly intense for the next few weeks. On Wednesday night (April 9), ABC television will have a Diane Sawyer Primetime special on Randy, entitled, The Last Lecture: a love story for your life.

In addition to all of this, Randy has lent some of his remaining time to the cause of research on pancreatic cancer, doing a public service announcement and also testifying before Congress for funding for research. See his web site at http://www.randypausch.com for links to videos and other information. From there you can also find a link to his day-to-day update page, if you are curious about the current state of his health, and how he is coping with his most recent heart and kidney failures.

Keep up the good fight, Randy! We’re all rooting for you.
